Glutathione-Agarose Gel 4FF
Also known as: GST-Agarose Gel 4FF; GST-Agarose Gel 4FF, GST-tag Purification Resin
English Name: Glutathione Sepharose 4FF
Product Number: BQ2026
Brand: Bio-Raison
Storage: 4-8°C
Shelf Life: 1 year
Product Description:
Proteins expressed with the pGEX vector are fused with glutathione S-transferase (GST), allowing for purification through glutathione-agarose affinity chromatography. GSTs use glutathione (γ-glutamylcysteinylglycine) as a substrate to detoxify small toxic molecules by forming thiol esters. Due to the submillimolar affinity of GST for its substrate, the affinity chromatography resin formed by glutathione-agarose has high efficiency in purifying GST and its fusion proteins. GST fusion proteins can be eluted with a buffer containing free glutathione. The resin can be regenerated using a 3 mol/L NaCl buffer. Glutathione agarose has a strong binding capacity for GST fusion proteins (each milliliter of resin can bind 8 mg of fusion protein).
