Glutathione-Agarose Gel 4B
Also known as: GST-Agarose Gel 4B; GST-Agarose Gel 4B, GST-tag Purification Resin
English Name: Glutathione Sepharose 4B
Product Number: BQ2025
Brand: Bio-Raison
Storage: 4-8°C
Shelf Life: 1 year
Product Description:
Fusion proteins expressed by the pGEX series expression vectors bind to glutathione S-transferase (GST), allowing for purification using glutathione-agarose gel resin. pGEX uses glutathione (γ-glutamylcysteinylglycine) as a substrate, which detoxifies small toxic molecules through thiol ester formation. Due to the submillimolar affinity of GST for its substrate, the glutathione-agarose gel affinity chromatography resin has high efficiency for purifying GST fusion proteins. GST fusion proteins can be eluted with a buffer containing free glutathione.
